I want to begin learning SQL. Where do I start and what steps do I need to take to become a DBA. I have a CIS degree but, took all accelerated classes and didn't learn much from my teachers. I feel as if the clock is ticking fast at times.

You can replace code line 3 to following to have it working with R2

SELECT @TimeNow = cpu_ticks / (cpu_ticks/ms_ticks) from sys.dm_os_sys_info

Great job.
This script works fine with SQL 2008 r2 but it runs into issues with SQL 2005 and SQL 2008.
Even I'm getting this error:–
Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type int.
